A Selection Of Shows – Genesis [& Solo] Live guide 1976 – 2014
The author has picked up the reins from where Paul Russell’s live guide left off which would be 1975. This book therefore starts in 1976 initially looking at Genesis bootleg recordings as a review or guide charting every tour right up to the last Genesis world tour of 2007.
But this books ace up its sleeve is where it diversifies from the initial subject matter and looks at the solo careers in the form of bootlegs or sometimes official live shows with the same approach as the Genesis section.
There is always information in any book about Genesis and the author of this one knows plenty of things to share with any level of fan from casual to full on anorak; not that being an anorak is should be a negative connotation in this modern age.
Visually stunning with plenty of tickets, clippings, and photos to feast your eyes upon. People are greedy and they will always want more a few more tickets here and there, which would have been the cherry on the cake.
This is not a biography, neither is it a salacious warts and all. What the book is upon close inspection is a live recording review book with very good visual accompaniments. Purchase this book with that knowledge.
