26.11.76, Farmyard Rehearsal Studios, Little Chalfont, England, Genesis are photographed by Robert Ellis whilst they rehearse with their new drummer Chester Thompson. Robert captures the rehearsals and road crew during this photography session. (some of these images where used on the Black tour programme, in particular the four road crew stood in front of the Ford D series small truck).
03.12.76, Farmyard Rehearsal Studios, Little Chalfont, England, Phil Collins rehearsal with Chester Thompson as noted on the former cassette list that was made public through the old official website and whilst a location is not given on that list, Chester Thompson has always said he was phoned up by Phil Collins and never auditioned so this must have been a tour rehearsal.
25.12.76, Mike Rutherford is interviewed in Melody Maker by Chris Welch who reveals that American percussionist Chester Thompson will be flying in after Christmas for rehearsals at The Rainbow Theatre.
29.3.77, Genesis appeared on The Mike Douglas show where they performed two songs – “Your Own Special Way” and “Afterglow”. The show was filmed in Philadelphia PA, USA during this period in time.
11-12-13-14.6.77, The Palais des Sports, Paris, France, these shows were recorded professionally with assistance from David Hentschel for future use. Parts of which made up the Seconds Out Live album.
26.6.77, The OlympiaHalle, Munich, Germany – Genesis were scheduled to play here on this date (its printed on the tickets) but one must assume that it was moved to 3.7.77 for the reason that Genesis played Earls Court London on the 23 – 24 – 25th June 1977 and required a break before continuing the tour.
03.7.77, The OlympiaHalle, Munich, Germany – Steve Hackett played his final show as an active member of Genesis he would leave the group sometime later with the news reaching the press on the 8th October 1977.
