Additional notes :
The 1996 Phil Collins Big Band actually supported Tony Bennett for a number of shows hence the Tony Bennett standards in the set list, the Phil Collins and Genesis songs were all instrumental.
Phil only sang the standards – Always and Don’t Do Nothing Til You Hear From Me, which was a shock as most people attending expected the band to back Phil Collins singing live.
17.7.96, Stravinski Auditorium, Montreux, Switzerland, This show was nearly a diaster The tour manager missed his alarm call and over ran, the band were held up at the airport, the truck carrying the band instruments and equipment was held up at the Italian border, a rushed soundcheck meant that during the first of the evenings performance the on stage monitors feedback a bass drum during the song Two Hearts and the problem was fixed and the song restarted – things did improve!
17.7.96, Stravinski Auditorium, Montreux, Switzerland, This was released as a bonus to the Phil Collins live at Montreux DVD/BLU Ray from Phil’s 2004 performance. The DVD/Blu Ray was released on the 26th March 2012 by Eagle Rock.
19.7.96, Stravinski Auditorium, Montreux, Switzerland This was released as a DVD/Blu Ray and titled Quincy Jones 50 Years Of Music, featuring a star studded cast of musicians performing songs to celebrate Quincy’s 50 years in music. The show was released by Eagle Rock on the 1st December 2008.
