This was the first single released from the eagerly awaited second album from Peter Gabriel (named Scratch by the fans) or Peter Gabriel 2.
The release date of this single is a hard one to pin down, according an interview Peter Gabriel gave to Nick Kent of The New Musical Express the single had been released three weeks prior and had sunk without a trace from the charts, the interview was published on Saturday 10th June so doing some maths and using an 1978 calendar it would place the single’s release date as Monday 13th May or Monday 20th May 1978.
We are going to assume that the journalist brought the three weeks into the interview with a view to the publishing date that he wouldve been aware of, so we will go with Monday 20th May 1978 as the release date.
