Modern Love was the second single from the debut solo album by Peter Gabriel, according to Max Demont’s book this single was released in July 1977 but according to an advert it must have been in June 1977 with the UK single.
Information obtained from an advert published on the 25th June 1977 either points to the single being released on Monday 20th or Monday 27th June 1977.
