Mike Rutherford as interviewed by Andy Peebles on the 21st January 1983 for BBC Radio 1. Over the 20 plus minutes they discuss many topics in a rather engaging interview.
Mike talks about the Six of the Best, the rehearsals for that show, as well as Steve Hackett’s participation. The unusual one off show was overwhelming received by fans, although Mike admits he fears reunion gigs. He also explains how Genesis were in America at the time the news of the Womad festival troubles came in.
They also talk about solo albums (in a general sense) as well as Steve Hackett’s upcoming charity concert with Mike discussing his involvement. Mike also talks about their early days at Charterhouse, whilst also touching upon sports.
Tracks omitted include ‘Your Own Special Way’, which they discuss how the song came about, as well as ‘Acting Very Strange’, which Mike was promoting.
