First show on TV on the 11th February 1999.
The Documentary “Classic Albums” caught up with Phil Collins during 1997/8 to document the classic album “Face Value” his first solo album.
This documentary found some rather interesting characters and footage to cover the album “Face Value”,
Hugh Padgham – original engineer and producer
Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford – talk about Phil and the album
Alphonso Johnson – Bassist who appears on the album
Tom Tom Washington – Brass/Horn arranger for the EWF horn section
Tony Smith – Phil Collins personal manager
Ahmet Ertegun – Atlantic Records executive who championed the album
This is a worthy addition to anyone’s collection and Phil did put a lot into the documentary which could have run for another hour to cover the whole of the album.
This documentary was released on VHS and DVD.
