Mike and The Mechanics + Paul Carrack filmed at the Shepherds Bush Empire 7th September 2004 is the first official live DVD of Mike and The Mechanics, sadly too late to showcase the talent of the other lead singer Paul Young who sadly passed away in 1999.
Paul Carrack takes on some of the songs that only Paul Young was known to have sung and it works in some places but in others its a bit difficult for the band one such example is Word Of Mouth.
The show took part at the Shepherds Bush Empire on the back of a number of shows in which the Mechanics opened for Phil Collins throughout Europe.
The DVD was the culmination of a series of gigs to promote the last Paul Carrack era album “Rewired”, The DVD was released by Eagle Rock on the 7th March 2005

Camera’s were set up and filming commenced on the 7th September 2004, bonus feature of an interview commenced filming on the green outside the venue on the 7th September 2004, the interview segements were also filmed at Paul Carrack’s personal studio in Hertfordshire and during the audio mixing sessions of the DVD at Fisher Lane Farm were Mike Rutherford was filmed whilst Gary Wallis can be seen in the background mixing!
Notes
There was additional footage used in the bonus section that was filmed at the tour rehearsals at The Chiddingfold Workingmens Club, and during the tour!
Other extra’s include bonus promo music videos (some not all) sadly not in 5.1 surround sound.
