Gig review – Genesis – Cold Genesis – Melody Maker – 8th January

Wind And Wuthering Tour

This is a gig review written by Chris Welch and published in Melody Maker on the 8th January, here he is reviewing the Genesis show on the 1st January 1977.

He seems to think that Genesis are becoming as though they are on auto-pilot and that the problem is the new drummer Chester Thompson.

Chris spots Peter Gabriel at the gig and this seems to lift his mood, but he is saying that Bill Bruford should come back.

An interesting and historical review, Chester Thompson had another 30 years with Genesis, apart from the 1998 Calling All Stations tour.

(Many thanks to Mark Kenyon for this interesting review)
