Abacab was the first single from the new and fresh sounding album Abacab, it would mark a departure from the typical Genesis sound that had changed little before the release of Abacab this was brought about in part by the bands decision to try a new engineer/producer in the form of Hugh Padgham.
Abacab was released on the 22nd August 1981 reaching number 9 in the UK charts and staying in the charts for 8 weeks.
